We built an estate home in 2016 with Homes By Us in Aspen Woods, Calgary. Overall, our experience was tremendous and the final product looks and feels like a show home. They can easily modify floor plans of one of their model custom homes, as we did, or design a home from scratch based on your needs and wishes. The build quality and finishes were excellent, and included as many sessions as needed with a design consultant to help with selections at no additional cost. We can't stress how important this was in building a home with great design elements. Homes by US has several qualities that makes this home builder a cut above the rest: 1. They are very good at scheduling trades. Our home was built on time and since we’ve moved in we’ve witnessed tradesmen at construction sites starting at 7 am, working late into the evening, and on weekends and holidays. And if they don’t meet the possession date (typically 6 months from when the first shovel hits the ground), they will pay you $500/day. 2. Customer service is their strength. Issues were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction with face-to-face contact. Everything was in writing. We were contacted monthly in the first year to inquire about any service concerns, all of which were addressed. Their attention to detail is impressive, and all tradesmen take off their shoes outside your finished home before entering. 3. They go above and beyond minimum code requirements to build a quality home that will stand the test of time. 4. Deposit only build process. That means no messing around with the bank to cover construction costs during the build and the outstanding balance is due on the possession day similar to buying a resale home. This saved us money, especially since we were renting when we first moved to the city. 5. They are active in the Calgary community, sponsor a professional Chuckwagon rider each year, and host events for homeowners during Stampede. As a family-owned business, they take pride in giving back to Calgarians. We would not hesitate to build a home again with Homes by US or recommend them to our friends. They feel like part of the family.
