Questions to Ask the Best Evanston
REALTORS® Before Hiring

You may think all Evanston REALTORS® & area real estate agents are the same, or that you may only spend a couple weeks with the person. When you bringing another person into your life, your finances, and your home it is critical to take the time to make the correct decision.

When speaking to your screened real estate agent ask if they are experienced and knowledgeable enough to know the average days on the market of properties in the community. They will base this on factors such as location of your house, condition of house, price, timing, and market demand. The primary goal is to sell your house in the fastest time possible but also for the best price.
Always ask to see how long their own listings sit on the market. Compare it to other agents you interview and if theirs is high ask for an explanation.
Always be sure you are working with a trained, licensed professional. Every listing agent should be prepared to deliver proof of their Alberta real estate license to sell in your area.
Like a license, every listing agent and buyer agent should arrive at a first meeting with a list of referrals. IF they do not, ask for them.
Alberta Communities are different in terms of what types of homes sell, what buyers want, and more. Agents are selling the neighborhood and its amenities as well. If an agent has experience in your specific neighborhood that is an advantage.
Be cautious of new Evanston agents. It is not a deal breaker by any means especially if they have great customer referrals based on closed transactions.
Be far more cautious if an agent is part-time. Selling your home needs to be a full-time job, and they should be focused.
Find Evanston REALTORS® with community experience and market knowledge to ensure your transaction is completed competently and professionally.

Evanston REALTOR Reviews

When it comes to working with a real estate agent, don't just take our recommendation. The best reviews are the ones that come from you. Our website was built with you in mind and we want to know what the experience was like working with your real estate agent.

To view Big John Peterson customer reviews based on closed transactions market updates email or call 403-244-5646

Selling a condo apartment in the current Calgary market is a challenge. Big John's team rose to the challenge and (together) we were able to successfully negotiate a sale in 1 month. Although the negotiated price wasn't as much as we originally wanted, the price was fair (given the market conditions) and the buyer was easy to work with. I am a demanding client, but John and team rose to my challenges and supported my requests. Big John's support team are very good, providing timely information and responding to questions quickly either by email or phone. The only suggestion for improvement would be the offering of a rhythm of regular/scheduled weekly telephone conversations, discussing updates and status. I recognize the team provide weekly update reports, but these don't necessarily provide the detail or clarifications required. Some sellers would not want this level of regular contact; but, for us (living outside the Calgary area) the scheduled telephone connection would have been beneficial. The calls need not be long, just a regular 15 minute keeping in touch conversation. It would have saved me feeling like I was pestering John and team with questions and requests for updates.
Working with Cheryl & Big John was an incredible experience from start to finish. They took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and made us feel like we were their top priority throughout the entire process. Their communication was excellent, they were always available to answer our questions, and they provided honest advice that helped us make confident decisions. What really stood out was the personal touch. We never felt like just another client—they genuinely cared about finding us the right home and making the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. Their knowledge of the market, attention to detail, and dedication exceeded all of our expectations. If you're looking for a realtor who is professional, trustworthy, and genuinely invested in your goals, I can't recommend them highly enough. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would absolutely work with them again!
