New Incentives for Multi-Family Housing
As part of the DIG Program, the Municipal Fee Rebate, now expanded to include secondary suites, multi-attached dwellings, and large-scale apartment buildings, is accepting applications. The expanded program provides opportunity for both new projects and the compliance of existing suites.

“With these amendments, we are pleased to open applications. We believe that these amendments will help generate innovative ideas and projects that can support the needs of our community,”” said Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “This initiative is about more than just building new housing; it's about creating homes and encouraging creative solutions to meet the needs of our growing city.” Read the media release here.

The Municipal Fee Rebate Grant is equal to all City-imposed fees on all eligible multi-unit residential projects. By alleviating some of the financial burdens associated with development, these changes aim to simplify the application process and stimulate growth.

In June of this year, 135 homes were sold in the City with an average residential sale price of $330,986. The average price has increased 2% from $324,341 for the same month in 2023. Housing sales are stronger for this period year-to-date with 703 sold in 2024, compared to the same period with 661 in 2023.
