Panorama Hills Free Stampede Breakfasts are a Calgary tradition that began in 1923 when a local rancher began serving pancakes from his camp stove during the festivities to anyone who came by. Today, there are over 40 free Stampede breakfasts held throughout the city, all of which offer a hearty breakfast of pancakes, sausages, bacon, juice, and coffee. In addition to the food, many Free Stampede Breakfasts also feature live entertainment, such as music, dancing, and children's activities. Some breakfasts are even held in unique locations, such as the Calgary Stampede grounds, Olympic Plaza, and the Glenbow Museum. Free Stampede Breakfasts are a great way to start your day at the Calgary Stampede. They are also a fun and affordable way to experience Calgary's western heritage. Here are some of the free Stampede breakfasts that are happening in 2023: * **First Flip Stampede Breakfast** at Olympic Plaza on July 6th from 7am to 10am. This breakfast features live music and entertainment, and is hosted by Calgary Economic Development, Tourism Calgary, Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, Calgary Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Calgary Arts Development, and Platform Calgary. * **SECA Stampede Festival** at the SECA Grounds on July 15th from 8am to 11am. This breakfast is free for the first 800 guests, and features a variety of Stampede-themed activities, such as a petting zoo, face painting, and a bouncy castle. * **Free Stampede Breakfast & Christmas In July Market** at the Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre on July 22nd from 9am to 12pm. This breakfast features pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee, as well as a Christmas in July market with over 50 vendors selling handmade crafts and gifts. * **Living Faith Chapel Panarama Hills Stampede Breakfast & BBQ** at Living Faith Chapel on July 9th from 10am to 2pm. This breakfast features pancakes, sausages, bacon, beef burgers, hot dogs, juice, pop, coffee, and tea. There will also be live music and games for the kids. * **Moxies Stampede Breakfast** at Moxies locations throughout Calgary on July 14th from 7am to 10am. This breakfast features pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice, and coffee. There will also be live music and a chance to win prizes.
