We booked a tee time over the weekend for 2 ppl. Once we arrived the organizer told us we had to pair up with two others (both from different households) who we did not know. We quickly voiced our concerns immediately that we weren't comfortable with pairing up due to the current pandemic situation. The person working the clubhouse was very rude and said well I have nowhere else to put you so you either play or get a refund and don't play. We drove 40 mins to play golf so decided reluctantly to play. We spoke to the other group and decided that we would keep our distance and play ahead as a twosome as they were not comfortable with pairing up either. Not long after, the marshall pulled up quite rudely asked why we weren't in our group of four. I said because it is a pandemic and we don't feel comfortable playing with people we don't know. His response was that "he didnt even know how to spell COVID" and that we have have to pair up regardless of how we feel. For a golf course representing the city of Calgary, I was very disappointed to see the lack of effort to follow health and safety protocols and the attitudes of towards the situation was very concerning. Clearly this course does not take the health and safety of their customers seriously. I would not recommend and will not be back.
