Country_Wife, thank you for the history lesson. My husband and I look for nature, history, and architecture in our travel; in fact, that is the purpose of our walk. After walking 12+ miles each day in San Francisco, I think we can handle 6 - 7 km in Calgary. Then again, this will be our travel day to Calgary, so we might wimp out if the travel is difficult. Thank you for taking the time to lay out the walks. I do agree that East Village might be better done by car. I'm a little enamored with the idea of seeing the view of the city from Crescent Drive at the top of the steps in McHugh Bluff Park, but that might be better done later by car also. I've made my attempt with a walking route that would include that view with Olympic Plaza, City Hall, Chinatown, Prince's Island Park, Bow River Pathway, Peace Bridge, Sitting Eagle Statue, Courthouse Park, and Stephens Avenue, beginning and ending near Calgary Tower. Any thoughts?
