Residential sales activity in Calgary rose in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2020. Residential property sales numbered 12,347 units in the second quarter of 2021, more than double the levels from a year earlier, rising 165.1% compared to the same quarter in 2020. This was the highest number of residential sales ever recorded in any quarter. Sales rose 167.6% for single detached homes, were up 172% for townhouse and row units, and were up 177.7% for apartment units compared to a year earlier in the second quarter.
