I relocated to Calgary in May 2015 from Montreal. The move was due to work and I had option to relocate to either Calgary or Edmonton. I initially chose Edmonton as everybody labeled Calgary as being very expensive, however we ended up in Calgary as my wife also got a job here. Our experiences have mostly been positive and we are lucky to have chosen Calgary, its our home now! Weather: It’s as unpredictable as Donald trump’s speeches.. you don’t know what’s coming next. I was here on April 11, 2015 looking for an apartment downtown at 1 pm and it was sunny at 18 degrees, by 4pm it was windy-cloudy (10C), the it rained (5C) and by the time I finalized the apartment and got back to my Hotel at 8pm, it was -2C with 4 inches of snow… all in a day’s play. I was told it’s nothing unusual. The day we reached Calgary (May 10) it was still white, during our 10 day road trip from Montreal we forgot to check weather report for the last leg of the journey. From salty, sanded and well cleaned road of East we were in slippery n frozen Calgary. The weather kept changing through the rest of the spring/summer, a 20 degree variation in couple of days seemed to be the norm.
