Edmonton and Calgary are the most populated cities in Alberta with Edmonton being the capital. While walking on one of the dozens of trails, you'll often be captivated by the Rocky Mountains with their peaks that seem to never end as well as the dense forests that are located at the base of the mountains. With over 600 lakes in Alberta, there is never a shortage of fishing or simply gazing at the crisp blue water of many of the lakes. Aside from fishing, Alberta is one of the hotspots for skiing with eight resorts for residents and tourists to enjoy. Even though there are several ski resorts, the winter season tends to be quite dry. However, with the cold air in place, resorts easily make their own snow for skiers to enjoy.
