Carefree Resorts Public Schools Directory

Carefree Resorts is served by the Calgary Board of Education (CBE). Your designated schools depend on your exact address. Use the CBE "Find a School" tool with your postal code to confirm your designated elementary, middle/junior high, and senior high schools. Many Carefree Resorts families also access CBE alternative programs such as French Immersion, Traditional, Montessori, or Gifted & Talented, which may be located at schools outside the community.

Catholic families in Carefree Resorts are served by the Calgary Catholic School District (CSSD). Each address has a designated Catholic elementary and junior/senior high school. CSSD also offers French Immersion, Spanish Bilingual, and other specialized programs at select sites. Confirm your designated school using the CSSD school locator or by calling the district directly.

Yes. Both the CBE and CSSD offer French Immersion programs at designated schools across Calgary, and Carefree Resorts families can apply. French Immersion typically begins in Kindergarten or Grade 1, with late-entry options in Grade 7 at some schools. Space may be limited and is often allocated by lottery or boundary priority, so register early.

Registration for CBE and CSSD schools is typically done online through each district's registration portal. You will need proof of address (such as a utility bill or lease), your child's birth certificate, immigration or citizenship documents, and immunization records. Registration for the next school year usually opens in January or February. Contact the school directly for Kindergarten registration timelines.

Yes. School boundaries, designated schools, and program locations can change from year to year as new schools open and populations shift. Always verify your designated school using the CBE or CSSD locator tools for the current school year before you buy a home, sign a lease, or register. This page is updated as of but district tools are the authoritative source.

School ratings shown on this page and on third-party sites such as Fraser Institute are comparative indicators based on standardized test results and other metrics. They do not capture everything that matters — including teacher quality, class sizes, arts and athletics, special education supports, or school culture. We recommend using ratings as one data point alongside school visits, parent reviews, and conversations with the school administration.
