It was clear that Mary Lou had a very good sense of the inner city market, and Mount Royal in particular. When she was assessing our home, she asked and she listened. She provided us with lots of comparable listings and explained how our home fit within those parameters. No detail escaped her. Not all real estate agents are prepared to spend a lot on marketing, but Mary Lou demonstrated a willingness to spend whatever necessary to get our house noticed in what was clearly a buyers' market. She hired a special photographer and then another, when the first one did not capture the mood and detail of the house that she was looking for. Mary Lou’s communication skills are truly excellent. After each showing, she provided us with concise feedback from the buyers' realtors which proved valuable in understanding where the market was at in our demographic. She gave no empty promises. She delivered truth when it was needed, even when it wasn’t what we wanted to hear, always tempered by understanding, warmth and remarkable professionalism. When offers came in, Mary Lou exhibited her excellence in negotiating fairly and diligently; not with the view of ‘just getting it done’ but always in mind of what was the best value for us.
