Ever wanted to take part in a swim meet? The Kraken Cup 2025, hosted by Kronos Triathlon Club, is an exciting community swim meet designed for athletes of all ages (3-99) and skill levels. Taking place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the MNP Community & Sport Centre in Calgary, the event features a mix of classic swimming events and the unique Pool-Open-Water (POW) 750m race, which simulates open-water conditions indoors. Participants can compete in individual events such as freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke, as well as relays like the 4x100m Freestyle Relay. Athletes from various aquatic sports and clubs will vie for the title of Fastest in the Pool, with the sport earning the most gold medals crowned the overall champion. This low-stress, fun event is perfect for first-time swimmers or seasoned athletes looking to sharpen their skills. Winners in each category will receive the coveted Kraken Cup, a custom trophy mug.
